Ustawi means well-being, prosperity, and flourishing in Swahili. We chose this name because it reflects our belief in an Africa rich with potential — and the power of local solutions to spark lasting change.
We work across six core pillars — each one essential to unlocking a more equitable and sustainable future for Africa:
We fund programs that increase access to essential health services — from maternal health to mental health, with a strong emphasis on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR).
We invest in environmental protection and climate-resilient practices, including reforestation, regenerative agriculture, and clean energy.
We champion access to quality education, particularly for girls and young people, and support digital literacy, vocational training, and lifelong learning.
We fund initiatives that promote women’s leadership, safety, economic empowerment, and agency in all areas of life.
We support innovative, community-driven uses of technology that solve real-world challenges and improve access to essential services.
We support income-generating initiatives that build financial independence, especially for women and youth in rural and underserved areas.
